NADER BOZORGI, M.D. - FOUNDER

Dr. Bozorgi practiced as a Board Certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist from 1970 to retirement in 2001 and was an attending physician at both Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Michael Reese Hospital. He served as Clinical Assistant Professor at The Feinberg Northwestern School of Medicine and is a Senior Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Bozorgi founded Magna Health Systems in 1973 and continues to innovate its healthcare offerings. In 2008, Dr. Bozorgi was honored by Becker’s ASC as 40 Physicians to Know.

MANDAN FARAHATI, M.D. - PRINCIPAL

Dr. Farahati practiced as a Board Certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist from 1972 until retirement in 2001. She spent the last twenty-five years of her career as an attending on faculty as a Clinical Assistant Professor at The Feinberg Northwestern School of Medicine and as an attending physician at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Jay Kiokemeister, DO - medical director for 900 N Michigan Surgical Center, Founder of Ambulatory Anesthesiologists of Chicago

Dr. Jay Kiokemeister completed his medical education at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1991. Upon finishing his medical education he went on to complete his residency training at Northwestern University Medical Center, graduating in 1995. Dr. Kiokemeister completed his Masters of Public Health degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago in Business Administration. Following his medical education, Dr. Kiokemeister pursued a career in private practice ambulatory surgery centers founding the company Ambulatory Anesthesiologists of Chicago, LLC (“AAOC”) in 1999. Over the last seventeen years, AAOC has become a well recognized and much respected ambulatory anesthesia group comprising of twenty providers in the Chicagoland area. Currently, AAOC provides anesthesia services to nine ambulatory surgery centers and is positioned for further growth in the years ahead.

Dr. Kiokemeister has taken a leadership roll in the ambulatory anesthesia community serving as President and board member of the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association of Illinois. In addition, Dr. Kiokemeister has served on the Medical Executive Committee and advisory boards for all the surgery centers that AAOC provides services to. He has been the Medical Director for 900 N Michigan Surgical Center since its establishment in 1999.

GUITA B. GRIFFITHS, J.D., MSC, C.A.S.C. - PRESIDENT

Ms. Griffiths graduated from Harvard College with honors, received an MSc degree from The London School of Economics and earned her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law. She worked from 1996-2000 at the law offices of Kirkland & Ellis, LLP, specializing in acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and private equity investments. Ms. Griffiths joined MHS in January 2000 and has driven the company’s portfolio acquisitions and divestitures. She has rotated through the management training program at MHS, focusing on ASC management and development and has earned the C.A.S.C. (Certified Administrator Surgery Center) certificate. As a founder of DayOne Health, Ms. Griffiths has developed DayOne’s portfolio of bariatric programs and oversees all aspects of DayOne’s marketing and operations.

KENNY BOZORGI, M.D., M.S., C.A.S.C. - CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER, CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER

Dr. Bozorgi graduated from Georgetown University with honors and The Feinberg Northwestern School of Medicine. He completed a residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology and was named the Outstanding Senior Resident at The Feinberg Northwestern School of Medicine. He then completed a three-year fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and is currently board certified in both Ob/Gyn and Gyn/Oncology. He served as Assistant Professor in Gynecologic Oncology at Northwestern and was instrumental in the start-up of a new clinical division as Clinical Practice Director of Gynecologic Oncology at Evanston Northwestern Healthcare. In August 2005, Dr. Bozorgi joined MHS as a co-founder and Director of Medical Operations of Day One Health. Dr. Bozorgi earned the C.A.S.C (Certified Administrator of Surgery Center) certificate in 2008 and completed a Master’s in Medical Informatics at Northwestern University in June 2010. Dr. Bozorgi has served as Vice-President to the Board of the Ambulatory Surgery Association of Illinois.
